Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, is a movie that seems to have caught the whole of India by storm, but I'm in no way impressed by it, other than the screenplay part of it! The actors have been cast superbly but they fail to impress because of a weak story line. This is the debut movie of Imran Khan, nephew of the more famous Aamir Khan, and with Genelia as the lead actress, they do make a cute pair.. But that ain't enough for the movie to be a hit..
The storyline is pretty simple. There are two very close friends, Imran(Jai) and Genelia(Aditi), who even in their parents eyes seem to be in love! But they are not. They start searching for the right partners for each other and end up finding seperate special persons. But in the end they find that they are jealous of each other and so they end up as a "COUPLE", which even a small child would've predicted when the movie started!!
The casual way in which the entire movie has been handled maybe the reason that it is a huge hit with the youngsters. And special mention to Imran's ma in the movie, she acted brilliantly! There are a few magical moments which takes us back to the incidents happen in our own life! I would sum it up as a dumb movie but with magical moments that make it worth watching atleast once!!

  4. Why does a good movie always need to have a 'good story' ?

btw what exactly is a good story ?

Something with logic, realism etc. ? A movie with all that will fail miserably with our audience. You know this..

The makers of JTYJN never wanted a 'story' in their movie. They wanted an entertaining film, i think they were pretty successful. Wot think ?

  5. something with logic realism does succeed!! Lets say TZP!!

I liked the slick screenplay of JTYJN but I'm not the one who likes movies with nothing! But with Aamir marketing the movie with his full might, I thought it was going to be one special movie! My expectations were clearly broken!! Yeah, it is entertaining and maybe that's why it's running to full houses and will continue to do so!!!
