You may all know that this is not my first month in blogging, but I was unaware of analysis of my site's traffic unless I started checking Alexa ranks and signed in for
Google's Analytics. This might be my first feature of my traffic analysis of this site and I would be putting it up every month on the 19th from now on. Since image
speaks louder than words, I decided to show off my statistics in images.
First the statistics from
Google Analytics :
Traffic Graph:
The first graph is my traffic graph for my site from April 17th to May 17th! It shows the everyday split of the traffic I received, and the maximum no. of visitors in a day recorded this month was 112 on May 15th,2008.
New vs Returning:
This is my new vs returning graph. It shows that I have nearly 20% returning to my site whereas the remaining 80% are one time visitors. This leaves a me a little discontent because it means that i don't have enough content to catch people and make them come back for more. I will be taking extra effort to make more useful content and make people comeback!
Traffic Sources:
My major traffic sources are definitely referring sites which give me about 80% of my traffic. Referring sites are sites in which I was listed and from where people come to my site.
I'm also happy that I've been getting nearly 20% of direct traffic. Direct traffic are people who type the name of my site directly in the browser's address bar.
Search engine traffic is starting to trickle in. I'm no professional in
SEO and other such website designing techniques. So this is something miraculous. I hope to get more traffic from search engines in the future by providing more useful content and query oriented topics!
Other stats:
These are my other stats for the month. I've received nearly 4000 page views this month. The average time on site and the average page views are pretty good for a beginner. The bounce rate is slightly on the higher side. I would like to reduce it to somewhere near 50%. Since this is the first month in blogging analysis, there are nearly 1300 absolutely unique visitors which I guess will go down a bit next month!
Now the statistics from
Alexa,
Traffic Graph:
My Alexa graph has finally come out of obscurity and started showing it's head to the outside world! That makes me one happy blogger! This has been one happy month for me in terms of Alexa ranks. At the max, I made it to rank #121,121 but again I see a small drop which I hope is not for too long and will rise again sooner than later.
Other Statistics:
My reach has increased by a stunning 900% and my ranking places has improved by close to one and a half million. My page views per person has been slowly increasing and I guess with more useful content, I can get them to visit more pages!
Conclusion:
*Content is king. More useful content means more visitors returning back, i.e., more quality traffic!
nice to see your graph going up!
ReplyDeleteHelp me out with how to increase traffic too
ReplyDeleteI have tried a lot of different stat software and that included google, but nothing gave me better graphs, charts, and information then statcounter.com
ReplyDeleteJust a suggestion :o)
@ beingadad, I'm definitely gonna try it!! Thanks for the suggestion
ReplyDelete@liu, yea sure!! Send me a mail
@leslie, thanks...
Oh! I think I'm going to try that too :D
ReplyDeleteDude, here's a tip (especially since you wannabe a pro-blogger):
ReplyDeleteget your own domain.
One of the best ways to increase traffic is to increase your visibility - and the easiest way to do that is being on a first-level domain.
Why?
Because now you'll also be included as part of GoogleSearch (instead of just Google BlogSearch like blogger subdomains)
@fatima, you are very much welcome!!
ReplyDelete@rahman, got that! But I am being listed in google search already!! Search for Rants of a survivor and mine is at the top! lolz! Anyways thanks a lot.. I'm planning on a move soon!
