Diwali's almost there and so are the crackers, the new clothes and all the delicious sweets!
A few Diwali's back, there happened an incident which made me slowly move away from crackers and most Diwali stuff! I was happily bursting crackers with my friends in the ground at my apartments, when suddenly a 'bijili' from a 1000 wala flew and hit my eye! I was suddenly blinded and we tried washing it with normal water! But then, I couldn't see anything and so, I went home and everyone started getting ready to go to the doctor! On Diwali day, you don't expect many clinics to be open and we had to go several miles before we reached a proper hospital! The doctor, removed the gunpowder that had accumulated in my eyes, cleaned it and closed my eye with a bandage! After everyday ointments and care by my mother, I could finally see and I was finally back to normal.. One of the incidents that left a really bad scar on my mind (not on my face though) and these days I'm not bursting crackers, but instead I watch it from a safe distance(There are exceptions when I burst a few crackers on my sister's request)!!
Just wanted to wish you an advance Happy and Safe Diwali!!
Take care everyone!
P.S : I finally reached my 100th post (I started on Dec 2nd 2007, and it's taken me almost a year!!)
